“It’s my turn now!”

Dr. Stratton and her staff know how important early dental experiences are for your children. We make sure our young patients feel comfortable and safe. They get their own time and attention in a fun and stress-free environment. Starting at one year of age, we keep careful watch over your child’s dental development. Prevention at an early age means little issues don’t become big ones, and can help your son or daughter to avoid serious problems as they grow up.  We accept Healthy Kids Dental plan (Delta Dental only).

Establishing your child with an understanding dentist before one year of age can help to avoid the development of dental anxiety, aids in the development of early dental health practices, and lets us screen for any early oral health problems.

DENTAL CARE FOR INFANTS

Newborn Baby

By the time your child is three, he or she has probably had all 20 primary teeth come in. At this stage we can help reinforce good eating habits and good dental hygiene habits. We can also assess any possible signs of speech and breathing issues related to dental development.

At this stage, baby teeth are being replaced by permanent teeth, so it's an important time to solidify good dental habits. The key time to teach and reinforce how kids can independently take care of their own teeth occurs when your child can tie his or her shoes without help, usually around age 7.

Many teens are susceptible to periodontal disease due to unhealthy eating habits and poor oral hygiene. This can lead to pain and tooth loss. We'll help teens understand that part of being grown up is being responsible for their own regular dental care, both at home and with a professional.

Kids with special needs are at risk for dental problems because they may have difficulty maintaining healthy dental and dietary habits. We can provide unique dental care plans to accommodate children with a wide range of physical, emotional and developmental challenges.
